Where Nature Inspires Creativity and Community
The Promised Land, Never Never, Die Happy Creek… Sound like names from a fairy tale? Yes, but in this case, they are all name places from one of the most verdant and lush valleys in New South Wales.
The Bellinger Valley is situated in the First Nations Country of the Gumbaynggirr Peoples. It follows the aptly named Waterfall Way, stretching from the rainforest and fertile volcanic soils of the Dorrigo Plateau, along the path of the flowing waters of the Bellinger, under the shadow of the Old Man Dreaming Mountain, all the way to the stunning estuaries and coastal beaches around Urunga. It hugs the Kalang River and Thora Valleys with an abundance of State Forests and biodiversity.
The center of this magical place is a small rural enclave with a big beating heart, embracing a diverse and creative community from farmers to hipsters and featuring heritage buildings, bohemian shops, a ridiculous number of coffee, food and beverage options, day trips, art galleries, designer dens, specialty shops and a dazzling number of festivals for a village, it is no wonder Bellingen is a desirable location for performers and a mecca for lovers of the Arts. Bellingen is a peaceful hamlet with a thriving spirit.
And… home to Bellingen Muse, the weekend festival of cutting edge fine music from classical, jazz, and global traditions, in intimate and inspiring settings.
So come walk beneath a waterfall, picnic in the Never Never glades, take a walk above the rainforest treetops, swim in the ocean, have a massage, be spoilt for dining choices or just wander and soak up the vibe.
In between the divine music concerts of course!
